13 Days To Go!

It was Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Chloe and Mark were rising Seniors at Boston College. After spending the day at their very important summer internships, both were headed to dinner at the off-campus house of a mutual friend. Being Tuesday, there could only be one thing on the menu - tacos. Scholars are split on whether the 24-pack of Corona that Chloe brought is what prompted Mark to go introduce himself. However, the rest, as they say, is history. Chloe and Mark still have tacos and Corona every June 13th to celebrate meeting.

They started dating (Chloe asked Mark out), graduated from BC, and began to figure out how to be adults (still a work in progress) in Cambridge. Chloe moved into an apartment on Brookline Street... and then Mark signed a lease down the street. Chloe started a job working in healthcare research... and then so did Mark. Honestly, this paragraph could continue on for a while, but we'll spare Mark... he only copies Chloe because she's always right.

A couple of years later, they both moved apartments and were living farther apart than ever before - a whopping 0.7 miles! Between the “long-distance” and the global pandemic, times were stressful. They were able to hang on to their jobs and use their newfound remote work arrangements to spend weeks at a time with each set of parents. This allowed them plenty of time to get to know the Kinzigs and the Hatems better. Who would have thought that these people who raised them had interests, thoughts, and stories that didn't revolve around being the parents of Mark and Chloe? Maybe yours do too - it's worth an ask! It was a real blessing in disguise for all of them.

In 2021, after braving long distance for two whole years, they decided that it was time to move in together. They considered renting an apartment in Cambridge, but decided that's what everyone would expect them to do, so they opted to travel across the country for 9 months living in Airbnbs. Their adventure started in September with a drive to Chicago in the Kinzig's Honda Odyssey mini-van! Following that, they spent time in downtown Philadelphia, Austin, San Diego, San Francisco, Boulder, Denver, and a seven-day stint with Uncle Jim and Aunt Caryn in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. They made new friends and reconnected with old ones. Their adventure allowed them to grow as individuals, deepen their relationship, and explore new places - something that never gets old for them.

However, what did get old was living out of Airbnbs. They decided it was time to get back to Cambridge. Their parents were relieved to hear they did not need to continue to store 99% of their worldly possessions in their basements. Chloe and Mark strategically chose an apartment right next to their favorite brewery (Lamplighter) and restaurant (Oleana). It was just a couple of blocks away from the park where Mark and Chloe got engaged on April 14th, 2024. Mark asked Chloe this time.

Since then, they've been planning for June 13th, 2026. Thankfully for you, reader, it is not a Tuesday that year.

We are incredibly excited to celebrate with all of you in Philadelphia. "You are, in part, who loves you" and we feel extremely lucky to have so many friends and family who love us and have made us the people we are today. See you in Philly and get ready to eat some tacos!

XOXO,

Chloe & Mark
